Overview

For operators that need to manage more than just the availability of a departure, IBIS has developed the Resource Planner module. This module allows you to set up individual resources specific to your business (e.g. planes, boats, guides, vehicles or staff) and allocate bookings specifically to them. You can then print a resource manifest instead of a standard departure manifest.

Setup resources

A resource is used to define an operational person or vessel that has individual reservations allocated to it. You need to set up your resources before you can use them in the Resource planner screen.

An operational resource could be a plane, vehicle, boat, room, etc., whereas a staff resource could be a guide, driver, captain, etc. A resource will appear in the Resource list in the Resource Planner screen, whereas a resource marked as staff will display in the Manager list.

  1. From the Operations menu, open the Setup Resources screen
  2. Click the green + icon to add a new row
  3. In the empty row that appears, enter:

Name - the name of the vehicle that will appear in the drop-down selection on the Resource Planner screen.
Order - the numeric order in which the drop-down list appears. The smallest number will appear at the top.
Staff - tick only if this is a staff person who will be allocated to a resource.
Display group - if specified, groups can be filtered in the Resource Planner screen.
    Active - tick this box

  4. Click Save.

Make a resource inactive

  1. From the Operations menu, open the Setup Resources screen
  2. Locate the resource that you wish to make inactive
  3. Untick the box in the Active column for the selected resource
  4. Click Save.

Configure the resource planner screen

You can customise the Resource planner screen to make it work for your business or specific computer.

  1. Open the Resource Planner screen and right-click the Refresh button to view the settings
  2. Select the number of resources to show at the bottom of the screen
  3. Enable filter services to only show services marked with an asterisk (you will need to specify the * in the Services screen under the exclusive products field for this to work).
  4. Adjust the width of the resources on the bottom of the screen.
  5. Once you have adjusted your settings, select Save settings as default.
