You can customise the screens in IBIS to suit the device you are using the application on. Specific screens can also be customised to save default information to make it faster to filter for departures or make bookings. This article will show you how to adjust the application to suit your device.

Setup a default screen size

You can customise your IBIS screens so they open up to the perfect size to suit the monitor you are using.

  1. Adjust your screen layout by dragging the corners of the screen to your preferred sizing.
  2. Click the icon in the top left of the screen, and select Remember size and position. If you are using the Ticketing and Booking screens, right-click the refresh button and select Save screen position.
  3. The next time you open your screen, the settings will be remembered on that PC.

Save default settings on screens

On some screens and reports, certain information can be set to default by right-mouse clicking on the Refresh button and selecting Set as default. For example, the Booking screen can have a default agent setup in the droplist, so each time you start a new booking you do not have to set this manually. You can also save default search criteria in the Departures screen. Follow these steps to save default information on your screen:

  1. Set up the screen with the information you wish to save as default.
  2. Click the icon in the top left of the screen, and select Remember defaults. If you are using the Booking screens, right-click the refresh button and select Save settings as default.
  3. The next time you open your screen, the settings will be remembered on that PC.

Set a default startup screen

Users can specify which screen they want to open by default when the IBIS application first starts. Please note the startup screen selection is limited to those used most frequently by frontline staff. If desired, you can also specify your default screen to be your base form. A base form means that the startup screen you specify will open to the full application width at startup and users will only be able to close it by clicking the red X in the top left corner.

  1. Under the System menu, open the Users settings screen.
  2. In the Behaviour group, use the droplist to select your preferred Startup screen,
  3. Click Save. The next time you start the IBIS application, your startup screen will open automatically.

Maximise the application at startup

Users who wish to maximise the IBIS application at startup may specify this in the Users settings screen under the System menu. This will open IBIS to the full-screen height and width of whatever device they have opened the application on.

Tips for using IBIS with a second monitor

If you are using IBIS with multiple monitors or screens, there are a few tips and tricks to make it easier to use. We recommend you ensure that your primary screen is positioned to the right of the second screen. Configure this as follows:

  1. Right-click on your desktop and select Personalise,
  2. When the Control Panel opens, choose Display, and then Change Display Settings
  3. Drag the screen monitor images to reflect the position of your primary screen (1 should be on the right-hand side).
  4. Ensure the box asking if you want this as your primary monitor is ticked.
  5. Click Apply to update, then OK to save the changes.

If you move IBIS to your second monitor, the date controls become tricky to use. (Note: There is nothing we can currently do to fix the date control drop-down as we are using third-party date controls software). There are a few options to manage date selection on the second monitor:

  1. Use the tab key to move through the controls on the screen. Shift+tab goes backwards to the previous control. This is standard windows functionality.
  2. Once in the date control, you can type in the date completely, or you can just type in the day or the month of the year. You can move between the day month and year in the control by using the left and right arrows on the keyboard. You can also change the day/month/year by using the up and down arrows on the keyboard. Hit the tab key once done.
  3. Alternatively, you can hover your mouse over the edge of the date control field and when it is highlighted, click to edit.

Setting a default agent on the Booking screen

For Operators using the Booking screen in IBIS, you can specify a default agent to be selected whenever the screen is opened.

  1. Open the Booking screen, then select the agent you want to make default from the list.
  2. Right-click on the Refresh button, then choose Save settings as default.

Setting a default agent on the Itinerary screen

You can specify a default agent on the Itinerary screen by selecting the agent when you make a new booking, and then click the ibis icon in the top left of the screen and select save defaults.

Set a default tab and product selection on the Availability screen

To save time with product selection when opening the Availability screen, you can use the save default function to save the product and package that is currently highlighted, along with the tab you have selected. Click on the IBIS icon in the top left corner of the Availability screen, then select Save defaults.

Profile editor functions

Some screens, such as the Departure search screen, can be modified to show or hide specific fields or change the groupings by default. This can only be done by an IBIS technician or a user within your organisation who has been granted profile editing permissions by IBIS. Changes made to the screen profile affect all users of your system so they must be done with care. Please discuss your requirements with IBIS if you need to change the default layout of a screen.

Specify default landing pages for IBIS Online

You can specify a landing page either system-wide or per user for IBIS Online.

To specify at a system-wide level (bear in mind that ANYONE logging on will be redirected to this page):

  1. Log on to the system you need to set the landing page on
  2. Go to System > System Settings
  3. Scroll down to setting Web logon
  4. In this field add in the URL you want the landing page to be.  To work this out, take the full URL and remove 'online.ibisres.com'. E.g. if you want your landing page to be https://online.ibisres.com/operations/DepartureList you would enter '/operations/DepartureList'

To specify at a user level:

  1. Log on to the system you need to set the landing page on
  2. Go to System > Users
  3. If you don't see a column called 'Home Page', right-click on the user's menu and select Add Column
  4. Add a column with the field name HomePage, and enter the caption as Home Page
  5. Click the save button and Save grid layout
  6. Click Refresh, then in this new column enter the URL you want the landing page to be.
  7. To work this out, take the full URL and remove 'online.ibisres.com'
  8. For example, if you want your landing page to be https://online.ibisres.com/operations/DepartureList you would enter '/operations/DepartureList'
