You can capture marketing data when you sell reservations, tickets and retail. This article explains where you can set up your marketing data, and how to enable this on various screens around the application.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Set up a list of countries

  1. Open the Marketing data screen under the System menu.
  2. The Countries tab will open by default. Click Add to create a new country.
  3. Enter the display name, i.e. the name of the country or region as you would like it to appear to your users or customers.
  4. If you are using an IBIS E-Commerce website, set any countries you wish to display to customers to FITWEB in the Online policy field.
  5. Enter a grouping in the Report as column. E.g. you can specify the group as "Europe" or "North America".
  6. Click Save to finish.

Setup extra info

Extra info is used to capture additional marketing questions from your customers. For E-Commerce users, extra info is used to capture the answer to the question "How did you hear about us?".

  1. Open the Marketing data screen under the System menu.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter the display name, i.e. the piece of extra info you wish to capture.
  4. If you are using an IBIS E-Commerce website, set any extra info you wish to display to customers to FITWEB in the Online policy field.
  5. Enter a grouping in the Report as column. E.g. you can specify the group as "Online", "Print", etc.
  6. Click Save to finish.

Setup customer types

Customer type is used to capture the type of traveller you are selling to. We do not display the customer type field on the E-Commerce field as it is typically something only captured by your staff directly.

  1. Open the Marketing data screen under the System menu.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter the display name, i.e. the customer type you wish to capture - business traveller, backpacker, local, etc.
  4. Enter a grouping in the Report as column.
  5. Click Save to finish.

Make marketing data inactive

If you no longer wish to capture a specific marketing data entry, set the online policy to Inactive and it will no longer appear in droplists. It will still appear on historic reports if it was used.

Capture marketing data from the Booking screen

To prompt users to capture marketing data when a reservation is saved or paid, you must enable the individual marketing fields in the System Settings screen in IBIS Online under the Reservation (legacy) section.  Restart the application after changing the settings to take effect.

IBIS prompts users to save marketing information but it is not mandatory to be completed. This is to prevent users from entering false information and throwing out statistics. The prompt will continue to appear until the required fields are filled whenever the booking is saved.

Capture marketing data from the Customer tour screen

To prompt users to capture marketing data when a reservation is saved or paid, you must enable the individual marketing fields in the System Settings screen in IBIS Online under the Reservation (legacy) section.  Restart the application after changing the settings to take effect.
