Overview

Integrated EFTPOS is common in supermarkets, petrol stations and larger retail stores.  It means that IBIS ‘talks’ directly to the EFTPOS machine, passing the value of the transaction directly to the terminal so the user doesn’t have to re-key any information. Although an integrated EFTPOS system may cost a bit more, it will pay for itself over time by reducing errors and the opportunity for fraud. It is also faster and more convenient for your staff and customers to use.

IBIS integrates with the following providers:

What does it cost?

There may be some setup and training fees for us to get the IBIS side of your integrated solution running. There will be costs from your EFTPOS supplier for providing their part of the solution. Typically there will be a cost for rental of the hardware such as pin pads and the modem, installation costs plus transaction fees.

Hardware requirements

  • Thermal printers are necessary for printing EFTPOS receipts. If it's set up on the network, you can use one printer for multiple terminals, but we don't recommend it.
  • Minimum OS requirements: Windows 10 (please check with your EFTPOS supplier for updated requirements).
  • A stable internet connection.
  • For Windcave/DPS, a spare USB port to plug in the pin pad.

Configure EFTPOS specific functions within Point of Sale

The following buttons will need to be added to your POS menu so you can perform general EFTPOS functions from within IBIS. These buttons will need to be added to one Point of sale screen per retail location (all POS menus will be updated). See how to add buttons to your POS menu

Eftpos Logon

Use this to force the EFTPOS system to log on when you open for the day. If you don't do it, when you do your first sale for the day, it will log on automatically.

Eftpos Enquiry

Prints the same report as the cutover but without actually doing the cutover. You can use it to find out the value of transactions processed on each payment type so far during the day.

Eftpos Cutover

Select this to print out an EFTPOS settlement report at the end of trading for the day. The bank will give you a time window in which this must be carried out. If you don't cut over within that time period, it will happen automatically but no report will be printed. Figures in the EFTPOS settlement report should match your z-off report from IBIS.

Reprint Last Eftpos Receipt

If a receipt doesn't print properly (for example if the thermal printer has run out of paper or gets jammed) you can use this option to reprint the EFTPOS receipt for the last transaction.
