For users of our Event Ticketing module, this article describes how to sell and print tickets for direct sales via Point of sale.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Setup your event ticket printer

  1. Open the Machine Settings screen under the System menu.
  2. Under the Printing section, choose Thermal Voucher/Event Ticket as your Admission Voucher Layout Type.
  3. Select your thermal printer from the Admission Voucher Printer (POS) setting. This should be the same as your Receipt Printer setting.
  4. Save your changes.

Sell event tickets via Point of sale

  1. Open the Point of sale screen and add your event item to the sale as follows:
    • Click on the retail button you have added for your event retail item (you will only need 1 button added linked to 1 event item), or
    • Enter the PLU code of an event Item in the POS input box.
  2. The Event pop up window displays your active events, each one will show the remaining ticket availability (note: if sold out, you can continue to sell tickets through POS, but this will be at your own discretion).
  3. Click the available units to book the event and enter the number of units you'd like to sell.
  4. Click Add to sale and proceed with payment as normal.
  5. Your event tickets will print automatically after the sale is complete. Ensure you have specified a voucher printer in the Machine Settings screen.

Refunding an event ticket

To refund an event ticket, you can use the Sale return function. This will also add the places taken back onto the total available spaces of the event.

  1. Open Point of Sale
  2. Click on your Sale return button
  3. Enter the Sale ID number
  4. Process refund as normal.

Note that the Item return function currently doesn't work for an event item, so if you need to refund one ticket on a sale that included several items, you'll have to add those items back into the sale you are refunding. E.g.: a customer bought 3 event tickets and a postcard, but only wants to return one event ticket. First process the sale return, but before processing the payment, add on 2 tickets and a postcard again to balance the transaction out to its true status.
