Our Event Ticketing module has online ticket validation available through our IBIS Check-in website. Validating event tickets is simple and easy for staff to manage.

Create a login to the check-in website

Existing IBIS users can login to the check-in website with the same user name and password they use to access the IBIS Application (please note we cannot support SSO in the check-in website). If you have groups of volunteers or just want to a generic login for your check-in website, just add a new 'checkin' user for this purpose.

All event ticket validation screens can be password protected giving you an extra layer of security if you use a generic login password. 


The default URL for the check-in website is https://checkin.ibisnz.com. You may have your own custom URL setup however so if that's the case, use your normal one. Once you login, you should see the Event button on the screen. If you cannot see it, it's because the Contact is missing the brand. Refer to the event setup article for how to configure event items - it's covered in the prerequisites.  


Set up an event validation password

If you need to hire temporary staff to validate tickets for your event, and want to just have a generic password for login, then we recommend you also setup an event password so that these users can only view and validate tickets for the specific event they are working on. 


To set a check-in password for an event:

  1. In the Events screen, select the event you need to set a password for.
  2. Specify the password in the check-in password field, then click Save.
  3. When users log in to checkin.ibisnz.com, they will be prompted to enter the password and user initials before they can validate tickets for the selected event.


Validate tickets using your desk/laptop browser

Use a barcode scanner to validate tickets as follows:

  • Scan/enter the ticket number to validate an individual ticket
  • Scan/enter a sale ID to validate all tickets on the sale at once 
  • If you have issues scanning, manually search the list of attendees by ticket number, name, email or phone
  • Toggle the view between hiding or showing the attendee list or checked-in attendees
  • Validate/check-in by clicking the person icon
  • You may be prompted for extra validation when necessary (e.g. if ID is required).




Validate tickets using a mobile or tablet

  • Scan barcodes or QR codes with your device camera
  • Manually search the list of attendees by ticket number, name, email or phone number
  • Mobile view displays trimmed down version of the attendee list
